In 1291, Hugues II de Bouville, chamberlain to Philip the Fair, raised a fortress on the plain of the Gâtinais. Seven centuries later, the moat is still in water.

- 1407Farcheville passes to the Coligny family, for two centuries.
- 1987Jean Chalopin begins the restoration, completed in 2006.
- 2009The Bouniol family takes over the estate.
- 2018The Orangerie: six hundred square metres of glass and steel, completed in 2019.
On the estate
Two hundred hectares of park and forest around a rectangular enclosure with corner towers, whose machicolations on pointed arches have almost no equal north of the Loire. Inside: the chapel, the salons, the velvet Théâtre, the twenty-five-metre pool under glass, and twenty-two rooms.
